Synopsis

The Oakville Symphony Youth Orchestra (OSYO) is rapidly evolving as a premier youth orchestra in the Halton region. With its three concerts in 2025-26.

As we begin our new season (2026-27), we reflect upon what the orchestra has done well in the past season. With assistance from the Oakville Arts Council grant, we were able to provide coaching to our "asked upon" chamber ensemble. This chamber group was able to perform in six different locations outside of the schedule of the OSYO. These young and talented musicians were able to perform exceptionally well at each of these locations due to the consistency and high-level coaching that was offered to them.

Going forward we have put in place a plan for to provide chamber music opportunities to more members of our program. This would include different instrument groups and our younger ensembles. This will follow our strategic initiative to bring musicians and the community together. We look forward to renewed assistance from OAC and reporting greater successes in the upcoming season.
